Every time I venture out to explore, my goal is not only to enjoy the natural beauty of our Canadian Rockies but to learn something new.

While watching The Boss in a meadow of wildflowers appearing to be careful to not damage these tiny delicate plants, I started to realize the similarities both represent and the close balance of nature.

Both are able to survive the winter by lying under a thick blanket of snow, insulation themselves from the bitter cold, waiting for the warmer weather to arrive.

Grizzly bears start as small cubs and develop into large animals, similar to wildflowers starting as tiny seeds and quickly becoming tall plants, together equally depending on each other in strengthening a healthy ecosystem.

Although different in appearances, they both represent energy, raw power and resilience in being able to survive in the harshest of environments they call home.

Chromaluxe Metal Prints

Metal prints make for a beautiful and modern presentation. The image is printed directly onto an aluminum surface, allowing for crisp high-resolution details and rich, stunning colours. Metal prints are surprisingly light-weight even at large sizes, and appear to pop out from the wall thanks to the foam backing.

They arrive at your house securely packaged with all needed hardware attached and ready to hang. Caring for metal prints is also a breeze. Just give them a wipe-down from time to time with a soft, dry non-abrasive cloth to remove any dust or finger prints.

Gallery Wrap Canvas Prints

Canvas prints are an attractive option for nature photography, with a rustic and textured look. Images are printed directly onto the canvas surface and stretched across a warp-proof wooden frame.

As with metal prints, canvas prints are lightweight and easy to hang. You can also wipe them down with a dry cloth to remove any dust.

Lustre Paper Prints

Lustre paper prints arrive rolled in a tube or with a rigid cardboard backing to keep them secure in the mail. Paper prints are ideal for you if you plan to frame and mat the print yourself. Giving you lots of options for matching your room décor.

Lustre paper has a slightly glossy surface that is more resistant to finger prints and glare than true glossy paper. We test printed many different types of paper before arriving at one that would suit this style of photography nicely.

Shipping

Mountains and Treasures offers free shipping over $30 to Canada and the United States.

If you're located outside of North America, we recommend canvas prints as we are able to offer excellent international shipping rates for canvas products. Metal prints are also available for international shipping, at a higher delivery cost.

Return Policy

We want you to be happy with your new print! If any damages occur during shipping, please e-mail us photos of the damage within 7 days of receiving your print and we will be happy to send a replacement. All prints are carefully packaged to prevent damages in shipping as much as possible.

Print Formats

Our nature photography prints are available in three different formats, each with their own separate charms:

Lustre Paper Art Prints (Unframed)

Printed on a Kodak professional photo paper, these prints are made to last. Paper prints arrive rolled and have rich colors that complement this style of photography beautifully. Prints will arrive unmatted and unframed. They are printed from edge to edge with no borders. We recommend this style if you plan to do the framing yourself.

HD Metal Prints

Printed directly onto an aluminum backing with a white base high-gloss finish. These prints offer stunning high-definition quality and beautiful vivid colors. They come with a ¾” foam backing so that they stand out from your wall. You can hang them with a nail, or we like to use two command strips so that it doesn’t damage your wall. Metal prints are lightweight, easy to hang and clean (just wipe with a cloth.) The metal texture is not visible through the image. Metal prints look amazing in any modern environment. These are Steve’s personal favorite.

Gallery Wrap Canvas

Images are Giclée printed on premium fine art canvas and stretched across a 3/4” wooden frame. The image wraps around the sides of the frame to stand out from your wall. These arrive at your house ready to hang. Perfect for just about any setting.

Print Production

All of our photographs are professionally printed. We selected our print labs carefully for their excellent reputation, great customer service and beautiful high quality printing techniques.

All wall art prints include the artist's signature in the bottom left or right corner, as pictured.

About Mountains and Treasures

Mountains and Treasures is a father-daughter duo in the beautiful Canadian Rocky Mountains.

Steve McLaughlin is a wildlife and landscape photographer based in Canmore, Alberta. From a young age Steve felt most at home in the great outdoors. After finishing a rewarding career as a firefighter, he took up photography to share his love of the natural world with others.

Steve practices ethical wildlife photography. He takes special care to keep his distance and respect the animals' space. Steve does NOT use baiting or any practices that would disturb the animals' natural instincts. He captures the images using patience, time, and a deep understanding of how wild animals behave.
