Steve McLaughlin is a Canadian nature photographer based in Canmore, Alberta, which is right down the road from Banff!
He has always been fortunate to live close to nature, growing up near Algonquin Park, Ontario. He feels most at home when he’s outdoors and has always been fascinated by its wild inhabitants.
His camera became the perfect companion as he documented his animal neighbors. His keen eye for composition and patience in observing his subjects shows through in his beautiful imagery.
Growing up in the Ottawa Valley, he relocated to the Bow Valley with his wife Louise to enjoy hiking, bird watching, photography, and being near the mountains.
All wildlife photographs are taken from a distance with long telephoto lenses so as not to disrupt the animals and their natural behaviors.
