Bow Valley Wolves Photography Prints
The Bow Valley Wolves have had a troubled past in Banff National Park. Between train accidents and increasing human traffic through the Park, they have struggled to keep their populations up.
Wolves are keystone species, meaning they have a disproportionate impact on their ecosystems. Their presence or absence can have cascading effects on the entire food chain. Protecting the wolves helps to preserve the intricate web of interactions within ecosystems, contributing to overall biodiversity and ecological stability.
I’m happy to report that the Bow Valley wolves have been doing well, largely thanks to the guidance of the current alpha male, who is especially wary towards humans.
Enjoy our collection of images captured using a long telephoto lens, so as not to disturb the wolves’ natural behaviour. Through photography, the raw power and untamed beauty of these exceptional creatures really comes to life.
